Lokoja CTC Chairman Congratulates Engr. Bashir Gegu On His Appointment As Chairman MIREMCO »

The Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has sent a message of felicitations to Engr Bashiru Gegu on his new appointment as the Chairman Mineral Resources And Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO)
In Kogi State.

In a statement released to journalist in Lokoja and signed by Iliyasu Zakari, the Special Adviser on Media to the Caretaker Chairman, described the appointment as fitting and well deserved in view of Engr. Bashir’s contribution to the sector.

“The appointment by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake on behalf of the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu is nothing short of a round peg in a round hole, and a recognition of his experience and contributions to the development and exploitation of mineral resources in the State” he added.

Comrade Adamu commends Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo Ahmed for nominating Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu for the well deserved appointment.

He also assures President Bola Tinubu that Engr. Bashir’s vast experience over the year’s would come to bear in any interface between the Federal Ministry, State, Local Government, Mineral Title Holders and Host Communities.

Mineral Resources And Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO) was established by Section 19 (1) of the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, 2007 in order to create a synergy between the 3 tiers of government (Federal, State & Local Govt) which is a major factor in the development of solid mineral resources in Nigeria.
