Lokoja LGA Caretaker Chairman Inspects Ongoing Road Construction

The Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, today paid an unscheduled visit to ascertain the level of work done on the Oworo Estate road embarked upon by the Local Government in 2023.

The Chairman arrived at the site at about 12 noon along with the Secretary of the transition Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Egamana, Director of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Aliyu Musa Omuwa.

The Chairman while interacting with the engineers expressed his satisfaction with level of work and urge the contractor to maintain the quality of work. The Chairman also urged the contractor to ensure that the work is delivered within the time frame set.

The contractor lamented on the sudden increase in the cost of cement and diesel, a problem he said has impacted heavily on the speed on work. He however promised to meet up with March 31st deadline.

“We are here officially to ascertain the level of work done and to urge the contractor to speed up completion. At the rate, we are optimistic that this road will be delivered on schedule” The Chairman added.

In the Chairmans entourage are Management Staff of the Local Government including the Treasurer, DPM, Ag. HOD Works, and members of the transition Committee.

The road construction project was initially a drainage control but has since been expanded to include the construction of the whole stretch Oworo Estate road to ease the pain associated with plying that road especially during rainy season.
