Management of Kogi Broadcasting Corporation Pledges Adequate Publicity for APC Candidate, Ododo

The Director General of the Kogi Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Oyila Ojo, has pledged the organization support to the Avoyi Team 4 Ododo in providing adequate publicity of its activities to project the APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, in the upcoming November governorship election in the state.

Mr. Oyila gave the assurance on Wednesday when the convener of Avoyi Team 4 Ododo, Hon. Avoyi Nwogu, and some team members, visited him in his office in Lokoja.

He advised the team to avoid hate speech before, during, and after campaigns, reminding them that they may come in contact with such speech in the field and urged them to stay focused on peacefully projecting their candidate.

While thanking them for the visit, he reassured of the corporation’s readiness to collaborate with the body and pledged to grant them the requested airtime for the sensitization of their programs.

“I want to thank you the Convener of the Avoyi Team 4 Ododo and your Executives for this visit today. I am impressed with your team’s willingness to support the APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, in the upcoming governorship election,” the DG said.

“I assure you that the Kogi Broadcasting Corporation will provide adequate publicity for your event to project the APC candidate. We will grant you airtime to sensitize and educate the people about the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the importance of having a Permanent Voter Card (PVC),” he continued.

“I also appreciate your commitment to promoting causes that will have a positive impact on the state’s citizenry. I believe that with the support of groups like yours, Kogi State will continue to grow and grow,” the DG added.

In her remarks, Hon. Billie Nwogu, the Convener of Avoyi Team 4 Ododo, stated that the group sought a 30-minute airtime either daily or weekly on the radio to begin sensitizing and educating first-time voters on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the importance of having a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

Her speech reads, “We are eager to collaborate with your office to make a positive impact through sensitization on PVC, BVAS, and technical guides needed to inform the electorate and those who have just turned 18 on how to vote and make their votes count.”

According to Hon. Nwogu, the mission of his team is to canvass vehemently for votes for the APC candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, to ensure an overwhelming victory in the November 11 election.

She thanked the DG for his willingness to support their cause and reiterated their commitment to promoting causes that would have a positive impact on the state’s citizenry.

Speaking further, she expressed her belief that Alhaji Usman Ododo was the right candidate to take Kogi State to another level of development.
