Ali Bello calls for unity and patriotism as Nigeria marks 66th Independence Anniversary

The Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Ali Bello, has called on Nigerians to uphold unity, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and responsible citizenship as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Bello, in an Independence Day message issued on Thursday, October 1, 2026, felicitated with Nigerians at home and abroad, as well as the people of Kogi State, while urging citizens to remain committed to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

He congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on the anniversary, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey and renew the collective commitment to national development.

The Chief of Staff also urged the people of Kogi State to continue supporting the Ododo administration in its efforts to promote peace, security, infrastructure development and improved welfare across the state.

According to him, the progress of Kogi State is closely linked to the peace and stability of Nigeria, making unity and responsible citizenship important to the country’s development.

Bello particularly called on Nigerian youths to remain committed to the ideals of a united and prosperous nation, stressing that building the Nigeria of the future requires the collective efforts of government and citizens.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Ododo’s vision and contributing to initiatives aimed at advancing the development and wellbeing of the people of Kogi State.

In his message, Bello said the anniversary should serve as a moment to renew hope and strengthen the country’s commitment to working together.

“On this 66th Independence Anniversary, I felicitate with the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, our dear Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the good people of Kogi State.

“May this anniversary renew our hope, strengthen our unity and inspire us to continue working together for a peaceful, prosperous and greater Nigeria

Bello also expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to overcome its challenges and fulfil its potential, while praying for peace, stability and prosperity across the country.
