The Ag Director General of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Udaya has aplauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for what he described as charismatic and pragmatic leadership style since his assumption of office in 2016.

He made the commendation on Monday in Lokoja when he led members of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 43 who are on study tour of the state to the Government House, Lokoja.

The DG particularly mentioned his gender balance and special interest in women inclusion in governance, saying it was unprecedented in the life of an administration for women to be so strategically placed as is the current practice in Kogi State.

He described NIPSS as a high-level Centre for reflection, research and dialogue where academic excellence, seasoned policy initiation, execution and citizens of mature experience and wisdom draw from all walks of life, meet to reflect and exchange ideas on the great issues of society, particularly as they relate to Nigeria and Africa within the context of a constantly changing world.

He said the fast pace of change and national development in countries across the world, especially over the past three decades, has been driven by paradigm transitions towards thinking globally and acting locally.

For the Governor’s brave leadership style and the security efforts put in place to make Kogi one of the safest states in the country, the Institute therefore presented a letter to him inviting him to Kuru for further studies and facility inspection.

Responding, the Governor expressed gratitude to the NIPSS and aplauded the institution for being a top – level body that trains individuals and organisations in areas that affect strategic policy formulation for the country.

He gave credit of the records he has achieved in the state to its citizens and others who contribute immensely to ensure his vision for the state came to light, saying they deserved credit.

The Governor said his administration mirrors the complexity of the country and the state as people from all parts of the country are parts of his cabinet and are contributing immensely to the development of Kogi State.

The Governor urged leaders from other parts of the country and the world to copy from the blueprint his administration has adopted for Kogi State to bring lasting solution to their problems.

He noted that Nigeria would be able to address its problems if citizens begin to work together and corporate with leaders to ensure solutions were found to societal problems.
