The Kogi state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has described as false the rumor that it has extended the resumption date for schools in the state.

The Ministry in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Pst. Emmanuel Idenyi, advised the general public to adhere to the ministry’s calendar.

The statement reads; “Information reaching the Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is that resumption date for primary and secondary schools in the state has been shifted or postponed.

“The management of the Ministry hereby dispels the rumour and wishes to inform the general public that resumption date for primary and secondary schools for the second term stands as scheduled on Monday 10 January, 2022.

“The Ministry employs official means to disseminate information to the general public and would not for any reason rely on the grapevine or rumours to pass important announcements to the general public.

“School administrators, proprietors, parents/guardians, students and the general public should please take note and adhere strictly to the Ministry’s school calendar.

“Please be assured of our best services always.”
