NSCDC apprehends 13 suspects for allegedly abducting 18-year-old girl in Kogi
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State has apprehended thirteen suspects for allegedly abducting an 18-year-old girl in the State.
Parading the suspects, Suleiman Mafara, the Kogi State Commandant, NSCDC, explained that the teenager, Elizabeth, was abducted on April 10, 2022, by a kidnap syndicate.
He gave the names of the suspects as Mohammed Abdul (25), Mohammed Ibrahim (24), Samuel Adesina (23), Malik Mohammed (24), Olatoyor Mathew (26), Tenimu Abubakar (25) and Shittu Ibrahim.
The rest are Momoh Friday (22), Abdullah Idris (21), Oluyomi Adesewa (24), Mariam Mohammed (22), Yakubu Neifisat (25), and Samson Rosemary (22).
According to him, through intelligence gathering, his officers uncovered the hideout of the hoodlums and rescued the victim alive that was kidnapped.
He explained, “The suspects, led by one Godwin Daniel, kidnapped Miss Elizabeth and took her to a hotel here in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. My officers, through intelligence reports, tracked their location and arrested these 13 suspects.
“Their gang leader, as I speak to you, is on the run. We are going to apprehend him as soon as possible.”
The State Commandant stated that the suspects would soon be charged to Court after concluding their investigation.
He explained that items recovered from the suspects include Indian hemp, charms, weapons, and a Honda car.
According to him, the command also apprehended one Mohammed Ibrahim, who specialized in stealing building materials.
The State NSCDC commandant explained that the suspect confessed to using charms to perpetrate the crime.
