NYCN Kogi Chapter Warns Against Another Proposed EndSARS Protest In The State

0

The attention of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kogi Chapter has been drawn to a proposed Lokoja Protest slated to hold today 19th of October, 2020.

The Council writes to officially state that nothing of such is encouraged and as such caution its sponsors to abort the idea as the State and the council can not at this critical point put the security of lives and property in the State at risk, stating that masked hoodlums have started hijacking the peaceful EndSARS Protest in other parts of the country and wouldn’t encourage same in Kogi State.

The Chairman of the council Comrade Isreal Femi Alonge said it be known that a peaceful protest has already been done in the state where the governor addressed the youths and further took actions in supporting the EndSARS Project by inaugurating a ” 10 man Human Rights Special Intervention Group”. Unless there are other ulterior motives attached to the supposed Protest, the protest remains unacceptable.

Alonge advised that at this juncture, peaceful dialoguing and round table negotiation is the tactics expected to be used in ensuring that the demands of the youths are carefully and holistically attended to while actions that may further threaten the already existing peace in the state remains discouraged.

Thank you for your usual cooperation.

Signed:
Jacob Abraham Damilare
Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman
