It would be recalled that the community along Ochadamu-Anyigba road was thrown into mourning on Thursday afternoon when a Dangote truck loaded with coal rammed into another tanker loaded with inflammable product which barricaded the road in protest of an alleged extortion by the military personnel along the road.

In the process, over 20 vehicles on the queue as a result of the protest went into flames thereby killing over 11 persons and left many others with various degree of injuries. Not fewer than 23 vehicles were destroyed by the inferno .

Bello called on the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to look into the activities of her members who always adopt wrong approach in resolving issues

“We’ve seen on several occasions a situation where tanker drivers take law into their hands and block the road with their tanker over issues that can be resolved by dialogue. This is not limited to Kogi State but an occurrence across the country. At the slittes provocation or argument particularly with security, they take laws into their hands and block the highway with their tanker. This is unacceptable and we call on the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to look into the conduct of their tanker drivers on highway.
