Ofu Traditional Ruler Visits LG Chairman, Pledges Support

The Ejeh of Ofu and Chairman, Ofu local government area traditional council, HRH Alhaji Akuh Obaje, on Friday paid a solidarity visit to the local government chairman, Hon. Sani Hassan Atawodi, at the council secretariat in Ugwolawo.

The traditional ruler commended the Chairman for his various reforms, especially in the aspect of revenue, as well as his unparalleled commitment to peace and security in spite of the nation’s economic, security, and public health challenges.

The Royal Father expressed delight that the peace, security, and unity in the local government since the appointment of Hon. Atawodi are commendable. “We can be the destination of positive choice for all people in Ofu local government, particularly in the area of brotherhood and oneness. This is obviously due to the vision of the chairman. The chairman is dispensing justice, and this on its own has brought peace to our land. We are all equal before God; we should live as one”, he said.

“Hon. Chairman, sir, We cannot thank you enough for the love you have shown to our people in Ofu Local Government Area. You have indeed shown this love in the number of critical appointments you have given to our people, something that has never been done in the history of the local government. We are greatly indebted to you for the various reforms you have done in our local government. It is our hope that those you have saddled with the responsibilities of various committees will live up to your vision,” he concluded.

Reacting, the local government chairman, Atawodi thanked the Ejeh of Ofu for honouring him with a visit. He said the visit of the mornach to his is an honour which he will never take for granted. “It is indeed a blessing to me, my family, and the good people of Ofu Local Government Area. You are a father we all look up to for advice and blessings. I am a privileged son; thanks for your presence.” he noted.

The chairman equally asked the royal father for cooperation in administering governance to the people of Ofu Local Government Area. “As a traditional ruler, you are a major stakeholder. In fact, you are the direct contact of the people. We rely on you for cooperation and synergy, especially in the area of security. Kindly assist us through your local chiefs to fix this aspect of governance. We shall assist you in any way within our jurisdiction to bring lasting peace to the Ofu local government.”

“Thanks for coming with your blessings; I wish you mercy as you go back to your palace,” he concluded.
