Okene holds festivities to celebrate Gov. Bello’s S’Court victory

The City of Okene, the headquarters of the Ebira land was on Saturday Agog with numerous display of culture and tradition alongside series of performances of local songs to the admiration of the Governor and other dignitaries.

The event was part of the series of activities at the Governor’s home country which were specially organized as part of the celebration of the recent victory at the Apex court which affirmed his November 2019 gubernatorial election.

Speaking with InsideStory correspondence, the Dokaji of Ebiraland, HRH Dr. M.S Isah, explained that the significance of such festivity was the identification of all and sundry of Ebira extraction with their culture and heritage.

He added that such moments enhances Social integration between young persons in the region and also a means through which respect was being enshrined in the minds of young people.

Another respondent, Muhammed Seidu also explained that the significance of the event was to celebrate the victory of Governor Bello at the Supreme Court noting that festivities were associated with good tidings.

He asserted that the victory of Governor Bello was good news to the people of Kogi State hence the need to celebrate the Supreme Court’s verdict.
