Omodara 'Light Up' Igun Community, Pays Ear Surgery Bills »

Residents of Igun, an Ebira community in Oke-Offin trooped out to celebrate a new lease of life as Commander Jerry Omodara on Thursday commissioned project ‘Light Up’ Igun community. Recall that CDR Omodara in December, 2022 donated a 7.5 KVA generator to the community for the first phase of the project.

Having completed the electrical wiring of the whole community and provided funds for the fueling, the community welcomed Omodara for the official commissioning of the project tagged “Light Up” Igun Community.

A woman leader, Mrs Safu Yahaya at the commissioning ceremony, commended the security adviser for his continuous support especially in the area of provision of amenities, such as: donation of foodstuff, agricultural inputs to boost their farming work and financial empowerment and many more to the community since he became a part of Yahaya Bello’s government in 2016. She assured CDR Omodara that the community will continue to greatly share and support his vision and dreams for the community and the State at large.

In his remarks, the community leader, Mallam Isiaka Ibrahim appreciated CDR Omodara for his sterling performance and immense contribution to the success story of the Yahaya Bello administration, stressing that his impactful leadership as a security adviser and grassroots politician will be remembered for a long time. The community leader further pleaded for support for a 6 year old boy, Attahiru Usman who was billed to undergo surgery to correct a defect in one of his ears.

The State Security Adviser appreciated the community for their strong support and willingness to live in peace and harmony with indigenous people of Oke-Offin. He further went down memory lane and shared the story of the first Ebira man who came to Oke-Offin over 90 years ago, interestingly the man stayed in his father’s house. “This and many more of such historical facts are proofs of the importance of our co-existence in order to achieve development and collective prosperity”, Omodara said.

In response to the plea of the community leader, CDR Omodara promised to take over the medical bills of the treatment of the young boy while also promising to partner with the Government of Governor Yahaya Bello to establish a primary school in Igun community due to the rising population and the need to have a school they can truly call their own. According to him, it was unhealthy for children to go as far as Okoro Gbedde and Oke-Offin to attend school.

He urged the community to continue to live in peace and love which they have been known for. He also used the opportunity to appeal to the community to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly Candidate, Seyi Bello as their votes must not be wasted for other parties that cannot deliver quality representation.

CDR Omodara was accompanied by some party stalwarts Elder Gideon Amupitan, Pastor Lawrence Obayomi, the youth leader, Mr Micah Alehile among other stakeholders.
