Opposition parties only exist by name in Kogi

Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has affirmed that opposition party in Kogi state only existed by their names but have their structures largely collapsed into the All Progressive Congress adding that previous elections in the state had proven that Kogi was fully progressive.

The governor who stated this on Monday while addressing stakeholders and party leaders from Ankpa Federal Constituency stressed that the party from 2015 till date have continued to build solid structures cutting across every part of the state urging them not to allow themselves miss out of the better days ahead.

He said “You at the grassroots with the help of God brought all of us into this position because you know the nooks and crannies of the community hence you are the most important stakeholder as far as the party is concerned. You are part of the system that makes the structure solid”.

Governor Bello assured the stakeholders that the days of short-changing genuine party members was over noting that his government was working of a system that would establish direct contact with them and get to know their needs and concerns without the influence of a third party

“There have been several programs and initiatives which didn’t reach the right quarters but the system we are working on will eradicate these anomalies not only for political reasons but also economic concerns in a bid to ensure an all inclusive system” he added.

The governor pointed out that his administration was trying its best with the limited resources to replicate dividends of good governance in every Local Government, as they planned the entire transformation of the state therefore party members should be weary of deceivers who wanted to take them away from the progressive fold.

Commenting on the forth coming general election, governor Bello said that his new role as the National Youth Coordinator of APC Presidential Campaign Council would focus on mobilizing youths across the nation for the party.

The governor who recalled that at several instances in his political journey, he has mobilized support in millions for the APC affirmed that this current assignment would see to the sweeping away of other opposition parties across the nation

He opined that youths would play a strategic role in the outcome of the 2023 general election and since the party Presidential flag bearer Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has eyes for good things, he has started demonstrating that the next government, when he emerge would be for and by the youth.
