“Our government can accommodate all groups,” Kogi Deputy Governor assures public
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja has assured the public of the capacity of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to accommodate all groups that contributed to ensure its victory in the last election.
He gave the assurance on Monday in Lokoja when he granted audience to members of the G21 Initiative who were in his office to formally congratulate him and the Governor for their landslide victory in the polls.
The Deputy Governor had appreciated the group for the roles they played during the electioneering process which took the G21 round the entire LGAs of the state where they interfaced with various stakeholders and enlightened them on why they should give the administration another mandate.
While giving gratitude to God Almighty for granting them victory at the polls, the Deputy Governor further admitted that the APC would not have recorded the landslide victory without the support of interest groups and associations in the state, one of which was the G21 Initiative.
He said the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is determined to take into consideration efforts put into his re – election even as he encouraged them to explore all channels of government to be able to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the G21 Initiative, Comrade Amade Edime had said APC’s victory in the election did not come to them as a surprise haven’t gone round the nooks and crannies of the state before the primaries and during campaigns for the polls.
He said no government has performed as wonderfully without tribal and religious sentiment like the current one since the inception of democratic rule in the dear state, stressing that the record was part of the justification for their support the government’s return to power.
Comrade Edime maintained that members of the G21 are proud to be part of the administration and prayed Almighty God to protect members of the government as they pilot the affairs of the state.
He therefore thanked the Deputy Governor for finding them worthy to serve, adding that they are equally ready to serve the administration in any capacity the government deemed them fit.
