Pa Okee buried in Egume amid sad scenes and teary family members, loved ones »

Egume town in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State was today a sad sight despite the presence of top Kogi State Political players and government officials.

The presence of these personalities was for the burial of the father in-law to the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja, Pa Joseph Abuh Okee.

Uncontrollably teary family members including the children of the deceased and other sympathisers could not hide their sadness as tears rolled down several cheeks of those present for the burial procession preceded by a church service.

Clergymen at the funeral Mass which took place at Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church reminded the congregation about the transience of life and the fact that all mortals must taste the inevitable – death.

They therefore urged the public to live lives worthy of emulation with legacy of good works so that posterity would be kind to them and for their souls to be received with gladness in heaven.

The men of God praised the life of simplicity, love, dedication and charity that was lived by Late Pa Okee, and described him as a worthy example to those that are still alive.

Government functionaries including members of the state National and State Houses of Assembly, Wife of the State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello, commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Local Government Administrators and others were present at the event.

They prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and for fortitude for the loved ones.
