PAAYEF Inter-School Competition: Winners clinch higher institution scholarships, SSCE fees, other prizes »

Winners have emerged from the Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF) inter-state quiz and debate competition which commenced with the pre qualifications across the three senatorial regions of the state.

From the nine finalist at the oral quiz competition, Demonstration Secondary School Onyukoko in Okene LGA took first position followed by St Peters College, Idah and Iyara Anglican Secondary School Iyara, in Ijumu LGA who emerged second and third positions respectively.

PAAYEF rewarded the top 3 victorious students at the written exams which was set by the National Examination Council with scholarships to any of the government universities in Nigeria.

In another segment of the event miss Esther Itopa of Harmony Secondary School, Lokoja who won the spelling Bee competition was gifted a laptop and other prizes as all students that participated in the grand finale were consoled with prizes ranging from school bags, six textbooks, dozens of notebooks, mathematical sets, calculator to each of them.

The Chief of Staff while dishing out the prizes after the overall conclusion of the inter state oral quiz competition noted that the foundation’s gesture was targeted towards motivating other students to become more dedicated to their studies.

He noted that PAAYEF was fully sponsored by the governor because he gave the platform and the encouragement for him and many others to engage in humanitarian ventures.

Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu asserted that the performances of various public schools in the Spelling bee competition, the written and oral quizzes strongly indicated that the public schools in the state have so much tendency to perform excellently and were already showing the huge investment of the Gov. Bello led administration.

The Chief of Staff expressed continued commitment to contributing his quota to lives of youths and young ones in the society reiterating that education would forever remain the bedrock of any serious, progressive minded society.

Earlier the Focal person for the PAAYEF inter state quiz/debate competition, Mrs. Musa Sandra Mimi thanked the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving a platform which has allowed many young individuals to pursue a path of impact making, she similarly lauded Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu for keying into Governor Bello’s human capital development and impact making drive.

The Focal person who appreciated all supporting stakeholders noted that well meaning individuals in the state should take a cue and pick an area of concern in the society and seek to address such within their God given capacity

Meanwhile donations of #2,000,000 was made by Alh. Muri Yakubu, the Personal Assistant to the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni to all the schools that reached the finals while an earlier gesture of #500,000 was given to students by the Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engineer Abubakar Ohere.
