Prince Sani Ogu Salisu Congratulates Governor Bello on NCWS award, says Bello remains model in governance

Immediate past Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kogi State, Prince Sani Ogu Salisu has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello on his recent recognition by the National Council for Women Society as the Most Gender Sensitive Governor in Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message that was released on Monday, the former Commissioner harped on the Governor’s many record breaking Innovative Women Empowerment efforts as one of its kind in not just the State alone but Nigeria at large.

According to Prince Salisu, beyond the fact that Governor Bello is foremost at engaging women in governance at both the State and Local Government levels, His many grass-roots program such as the “Bello Medicare” has a direct impact on Rural Women, Widows and the Less Privileged.

It can be recalled that while presenting the Award to the Governor on Saturday, Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda, President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) said that Governor Yahaya Bello is the first Chief Executive in Nigeria to exhibit the required political will to place women in positions for effective governance.

She further noted that the occasion of the conferment of a “Goodwill Ambassador of Nigerian Women” on the Kogi State Governor by the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), and an award presentation as the Most Gender Sensitive Governor in Nigeria is aimed at spurring him to do more.

Afterwards, the former Commissioner urged Leaders at all level to emulate Governor Bello’s style of Leadership stressing that the Governor has proven overtime to remain the Circular Model of Governance in Nigeria and will do even more, if elected at the Central Government.
