Youths of Kogi East flank has commended the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello for the flag off and commencement of Project Lightup Kogi East.

The Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Pete Amodu in a statement gave the commendation on behalf of the youth of the zone, adding that the project when completed would enable all the nine local government areas of the zone to enjoy stable electricity supply without overloading which usually caused light tripping and destruction of electrical instruments in the area.

The Project Lightup Kogi East would include the upgrading of Itobe Bridge Cable and rehabilitation and complete overhaul of the power supply infrastructure covering the nine local government areas.

Comrade Pete Amodu said that the project when fully completed would improve the living standard of the people and boost their economic activities. He highlighted that youths especially would benefit more because they would be highly engaged since there would have stable electricity to power their businesses.

The Zonal Chairman further pledged the support of the youth of the zone to the governor and expressed their readiness to partner in the course of the project especially in monitoring and giving necessary support in all the local government areas where the local chapters of the council are on standby.

He however warned that the contractors should desist from shoddy deals as youths would raise alarm immediately they noticed any infraction.
