RETRACTION AND APOLOGY FROM COORDINATORS FORUM OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, KOGI STATE CHAPTER TO THE NATIONAL BODY AND THE PRESIDENT, AMB SUKUBO-LED ET AL

Coordinators Forum of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter under the leadership of Comrade Abdullahi Adamu writes to apologize to the national body ably led by Amb Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo over a misunderstanding about the body’s position on the recent endorsement of of the state Governor and donation of N 2 million Naira for purchase of Governor Yahaya Bello’s Expression of Interest Gorm.
Having seen the recent press statement debunking the story and having done necessary findings, too, the Forum writes to apologize to the national council, the president, the entire members of executive and others that were offended by the choice of words in the rejoinder.
Even as we maintain that it is our right as citizens of Kogi State to back what has clearly been seen to be right for our state in terms of governance, it was wrong to have lumped together and cast aspersions on some state governments and their people as was done.
The release was written in the heat of the moment hence the choice of words. In hindsight, we would chose our words carefully and tailor our narrative accordingly. It was not meant to insult or show disrespect to anyone. We therefore tender UNRESERVED APOLOGIES.
We hope that everyone concerned would find some understanding by accepting our apologies as humans who are themselves not infallible.
The forum should have investigated the issue better to understand the rationale and source of the story before reacting. We sincerely regret our actions and hope we would be forgiven.
Humans are like floating water, they part and meet; some, in several intervals. One should not use all of his strengths in dealing with a perceived adversary; we know that now!
May the blood of Comradeship among us never run dry. May our bonds be strengthened ever more for the unity and progress of all of the nation’s youth.
