Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on their inauguration, wishing them success as they pilot the affairs of the country in their second tenure.

A statement signed by the Governor and made available to the press, attributed the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last general election as a testimony of the willingness of Nigerians to continue the nation’s journey under the leadership of President Buhari, expressing optimism that the “Next Level” would usher in more dividends of good and forthright governance.

The statement reads:

Hearty Felicitations To The President And Vice President On Their Inauguration For a Second Term In Office

On behalf of the good People and Government of Kogi State, I heartily felicitate with President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, GCON on Your Excellencies’ Inauguration for a 2nd Term in office.

Your Excellencies’ outstanding victory in the 2019 General Elections widely adjudged at home and abroad as peaceful and credible is testimony to the willingness of Nigerians to continue the nation’s journey to the future under your leadership.

Kogi State gave Your Excellencies the overwhelming majority of our votes in the Presidential Elections and also elected the APC in over 90% of all legislative positions vied for.

Thus, Kogi State voted strongly for the promise of a Next Level and simultaneously reaffirmed our faith in Your Excellencies’ leadership. We must now count on Mr. President and Mr Vice President to make this 2nd Term a Next Level indeed for our country, Nigeria.

Specifically, we look forward to a Next Level characterised by open and transparent government, national security, economic prosperity, human capital development, agricultural revolution, zero tolerance for corruption, infrastructural transformation and all the globally acclaimed indices of good and forthright governance.
