The political season of 2023 electioneering has since commenced and many who are interested in elective political offices have begun to test the waters of their popularities within their constituencies in a bid to register their names and imprint them in the minds of the people who would entrust them with representative duties even before time.

Without mincing words the proper understanding of grass root politics during this season becomes a veritable tool to garner the needed popularity that could win the hearts and votes of the people who have now become more enlightened to differentiate between those who truly belonged to them and seasonal politicians without any track record.

Segun Olobatoke profile best fit into the description of one who first and foremost has being with the people and it was on such recognition that the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency have made a clarion on him to compete favourably and represent their interest at the hallowed Red Chamber.

The humble and delectable young man is a philanthropist in his own class whose kind gestures dates back to years even before his voyage into the political terrain where he was one of the frontiers of the then Alhaji Yayaha Bello gubernatorial move pre 2015 within the Kogi West region.

Segun Olobatoke alongside his wife Mrs. Fola Olobatoke another reknowned grass root women mobiliser both have continued to within their capacity engage in numerous programs which have alleviated women, youth within the region from poverty, sponsored many to schools, set up small and medium scale business for others and several others.

Through the collective efforts of this couple many lives have been touched positively and there are numerous testimonies of individuals who have benefitted from their benevolence at one time or the other, directly or indirectly. Infact, the couple has been recipient of several honorary accolades by different spheres of the community in recognition of their continued contribution to the growth and development of the region.

Hence, one would ask, just like many young people within the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu if Segun Olobatoke does not deserve to represent their constituency to further consolidate on his numerous self sponsored commitments to the people. Their questions and assertions are premised on the conclusions that if the couple could do so much consistently and unperturbed within the ambient of his God given resources, allocation from the National Assembly because of his position as House of Representative Member would be judiciously utilized for the people.

It is as a result of Segun Olobatoke’s track record that many young Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu indigenes under the “Soro-Soke” campaign have come together to endorse his candidacy with so much guarantee that as a consistent humanitarian and political philanthropist he will sure deliver on his mandate
