SEMA Executive Secretary Hails Timely Rescue of Abducted CUSTECH Students Few Hours After Governor Ododo’s Visit

The Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hon. Mouktar Atimah has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his proactiveness in ensuring the quick rescue of the abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology from captivity.

Hon. Atimah in a statement on Monday described the governor as security conscious whose visit to the institution boosted the morale of conventional security agents, Local vigilante men and local hunters that engaged the kidnappers in the forest where the victims are kept.

He added that the kidnappers succumbed to firepower and had no option, leaving the kidnapped students behind. The Security agents have taken over the forest using centrifugal force to ensure safety of all kidnapped students.

Atimah noted that Kogi State known to have shared boundaries with ten States had never experienced this ugly act for the past eight years and the current administration has practically demonstrated that the Security policies championed by Former Governor Yahaya Bello which the current Governor is consolidating upon maintained zero tolerance for criminals and criminalities in the State.

The SEMA Boss urged all the concerned citizens to be law abiding and assist the Government with useful and prompt information on suspicious movements in the communities that could lead to criminal activities.
