The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Engr. Abubakar Ohere today welcomed thousands of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The Senator stated that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is the only existing political party in the state because of its commitment to the rapid development of the state.

Speaking during the defection of PDP Chieftains, with thousands of their supporters at Ganaja, Ajaokuta LG, Sen. Ohere said that Kogi people are happy with the performance of the APC over the years.

He said: “There is no other party in Kogi State. APC is the only party that can deliver good governance as far as Kogi State is concerned.

“Except people who do not see and those who tell lies in the state, the only party that means well for Kogi State is the APC.” Sen. Ohere said.

“The performance of APC in Kogi State is beyond mere propaganda. This is the only party that keeps its promises. When we say a thing, we go all out to carry it out on behalf of the people,” he said.

He expressed happiness that Kogi State leaders are returning to the APC to promote the interest of the state.

The Senator said that the APC returnees will enjoy equal opportunities with older members of the party.

“Everybody has equal rights in APC.

He enjoined the new entrants to feel at home and go all out to campaign for our governorship candidate, Alh. Usman Ododo Ahmed.
