The group made the disclosure on Sunday while receiving the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja in their new office at Anyigba.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, convener of the body, Dr Usman Ogbo stated that the nomination form would be bought for the Governor as a show of appreciation for the unprecedented infrastructural development embarked upon by the administration in the region and for involving young people in the governance of the state thereby providing them with a sense of belonging.

He noted that they were aware of the fact that the Coordinators Forum of National Youth Council of Nigeria had planned to purchase expression of interest form for the Governor hence the decision ofthe Emerging Leaders Forum to purchase the nomination form.

His organisation, he noted, had prominent members who spread across the nine Local Government areas and all the 98 Wards in Kogi East who have contributed money to completely purchase the nomination form for the Governor, adding that the Governor deserved to be rewarded for giving them a sense of purpose.

Recall that the Emerging Leaders Forum Kogi East held Town Hall meetings on the theme: Good Governance and Development across the nine LGAs in Kogi east during which they interacted with various stakeholders and interest groups and obtained their views and perceptions of the performance of the present administration especially at the grassroots and the impacts in their domains.

This might have also influenced the decision of the forum to support the Government to continue to do more, a view the convener said played key role in their decision.

Dr. Ogbo said; “As stakeholders in the new Kogi State, we are conversant with the efforts of the government in building a new Kogi State that is virile and one which provides opportunities for the younger generation. The divine emergence of Gov Bello and his leadership style has given credence to the fact that young people also possess the skills to lead and lead well when giving the opportunity.

Dr. Ogbo added that, under the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Kogi people were united ever than before as manifested in the appointments and spread of projects executed by his administration across the 3 Senatorial districts in the state.

“The Emerging Leaders Forum, Kogi East in addition to the purchase of the nomination form for the re-election bid of His Excellency, have also resolved and have purchased 12 vehicles of different types waiting to be branded for this project. As you can see we mean business with all sincerity of purpose. We are not Android Groups”, Dr. Ogbo added.

“ELF would begin with these 12 vehicles for the campaigns and we would also use our network in Kogi East to canvass for votes for the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming governorship elections because as stated earlier, we are impressed by his purposeful leadership. There is peace in the land, our roads are receiving attention, agriculture is booming, water supply, power and others are being improved upon. Not to mention youth empowerment. For all of these, we are grateful.”

They expressed confidence that this administration can correct both inherited and complicated perceived challenges for the desired growth and development of Kogi State for the benefit of all.

InsideStory reports that forum of 21 Local Government Coordinators of NYCN in Kogi state had recently made a donation of two Million naira towards the same bid in recognition of the tremendous achievements of the Governor.
