Stakeholders in Kogi West back Governor Yahaya Bello for second term
Political appointees, office holders, traditional rulers, APC bigwigs, women and youth leaders, religious leaders and other stakeholders from the western senatorial district of Kogi State have assured the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello of support for his second term bid.
They spoke today, Tuesday at the Government House in Lokoja in a solidarity/endorsement visit a day after similar occasion was staged by the people of Kogi Central.
Led by the speaker of the State House of Assembly and other top government officials, graded chiefs among others, they said their decision to support the Governor was backed by the special attention he has given to the area.
In his address at the occasion, speaker of the state Assembly, Hon Matthew Kolawole said the westeen Senatorial District has never had it so good in the history of Kogi State despite their political antecedents before the creation of Kogi State.
He mentioned that the present administration has impacted the lives of the people in the areas of infrastructure, appointments into important political offices, construction and repair of many rural roads especially the Jege-Ejuku-Ijowa road project which has the capability to impact the lives of the people of the entire Okun land as well as the Ife-Olukotun road.
He also mentioned the agricultural revolution going on in the area with the state Rice Milling Plant at Ejiba and the Omi Dam Project, the long abandoned Isanlu Water Works project repaired and is bein put to use, the Lokoja-Kabba Road among numerous others have all endeared the Governor to the people.
In his address, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of Okun Traditional Council, Oba Dele Owoniyi said the traditional institution in his kingdom has been accorded the recognition they deserve with the grading and upgrading of many stools.
He was also quick to note that government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has also recorded tremendous achievements in the areas of security, education, healthcare services, adding that the administration was one that promises and delivers.
Other office holders including the State Security Adviser, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr Abubakar Ohere, the State commissioner for finance and Economic Planning, Hon Asiru and other traditional rulers and politicians also highlighted the huge investments of the state government under the Governor in many areas that have made life more meaningful for the people.
