Why Kogi Central support Governor Bello continuity

The people of Central Senatorial Senatorial District and indeed Kogi State want Governor Yahaya Bello to continue beyond his first tenure because of his foresight and commitment to building a new Kogi State.

This was part of the submissions of the Special Adviser to the governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr Abubakar Ohere, yesterday, Monday, in an opening remarks in Lokoja when stakeholders from the area paid an endorsement/courtesy visit to the State Government House in Lokoja.

Engr Ohere, who said the State had never had it any better than what currently obtains under the Governor, urged the people to discountenance the lies and propaganda being peddled by members of the opposition.

The concern of the Governor, Ohere said, was to ensure that solid foundation was laid for the long-term progress of the State under an atmosphere of peace and security.

He mentioned several infrastructural facilities being enjoyed by the people of the state, particularly the central senatorial district that includes road projects, electrification, agricultural revolution, water, health and sanitation, security, among others, adding that another term for Governor Bello would take Kogi State to higher level of development.

The Adviser, who expressed the commitment of the people to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture, enjoined them to pay deaf ears to all the rumours being published about the administration, adding that the central senatorial district and other parts of the State would not abandon their own as Governor has demonstrated he belonged to all parts of the state.

He was particularly miffed about the falsehood surrounding the alleged diversion of N 1.8 b meant for construction of flyover at Ganaja Junction in Lokoja for construction of the Ankpa township road, saying the money was actually utilised for the construction of other roads in the state and not only Ankpa Township Road.

Ohere said the administration had long focuses itself on addressing the real issues that affect real development and distanced itself from any form of distraction and called on the public to do the same.

The occasion had in attendance APC Elders and party leaders from the area, members of the National and the state legislatures, political office holders, other government appointees, traditional rulers, market women and party women leaders, youth leaders among others.

Highlights of the occasion include cultural displays, presentation of gift among other side attractions.
