Support groups propels Gov. Bello’s reelection bid’. – Kogi COS says as he commissions campaign office
As the race to Kogi governorship election gathers momentum, several support groups have emerged to campaign for the reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello come November 16th this year.
One of such group is the Kogi Projector For GYB Reelection who Commissioned a campaign office today in Lokoja the state capital.
The office was commissioned by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Honorable Edward Onoja.
Onoja expressed gratitude to the founders of the group for standing by truth and for the decision to not only support the Governor, but also serve as foot soldiers in winning more support for his reelection. He said that there are several of this groups spread across the state and they serve as the propeller of GYB reelection because they represent the yearnings of the people at the grassroot.
The Chief of Staff used the opportunity to advice the media in Kogi State to put in more efforts in stemming the tide of fake news, saying that it is damaging the image of the state.
“it is unfortunate that fake news have become the order of the day in Kogi State, a group of people pursuing their selfish interests will put up false information about the state and the media who is supposed to be the watch dog would be found aiding the spread of falsehood. Thereby damaging the collective image of the state for pecuniary gains”.
“Under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, Kogi is witnessing several positives in the state, from security, agricultural development, industrial transformation to equity and fairness in governance, but all these are under reported because the media has shown to be more interested in promoting negative news even when they are false.
The media must live up to the tenets of accurate reportage and avoid falling for false sensationalism for the sake of our state”. He urged.
Onoja urged their teaming supporters to keep faith with Governor Yahaya Bello as he would not only win the primary election, but would also emerge as the winner of the General election in November by God’s grace.
Earlier in his welcome address, the coordinator of Kogi Projector For GYB Reelection, Honorable David Isah Ohinoyi reeled out the achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the past three years under the Bello administration.
He said Governor Bello is succeeding in tackling the hydra-headed security problem in the state as well as turning the economy around with various policies.
Noting that his achievements in the area of Agriculture, health, youth and women empowerment are obvious to all.
He said their structure is spread across all the local governments in Kogi State and they have all resolved not to be brain- washed by the antics and blackmails from the opposition but instead go all out to enlighten others on achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello and the need to re-elect him.
