As the cloud thickens, preparatory to the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello along side thousands of his supporters throng the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pick his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

Speaking randomly with some of the supporters of the New Direction Government who came out in their large numbers to show solidarity to Governor Bello, they expressed trust in the credibility of Governor Bello to consolidate on already existing achievements.

They eulogised Governor Bello for changing the old order where young people were relegated and tribal sentiments were prevalent.

Speaking shortly after picking his form, Governor Bello appealed to his supporters not to clamp down on any aspirant willing to lock horns with him in the race as any could aspire to become governor.

He explained that the leadership of his party in Kogi State had put their difference aside and are now more united adding that the court case by the erstwhile aggrieved members of the party “Haddi Ametuo group” is withdrawn and there is unity amongst all.

While assuring the people of a rancour free election, the Governor further made it clear how his administration has been able to combat insecurity and has succeeded in making the state the second safest state in the country.

“Kogi State is well secured. Our election shall be rancour free. Allow anyone who is interested in picking the nomination forms free access to do so, it will only expand our great party.”

The governor expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious at the poll.
