As legislators of the Kogi State House of Assembly continue with their consultations with counterpart of other states, the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa 1 constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed says Governor Yahaya Bello is a man annointed by God to serve the people and now is the right time for him to take the Apex position in the country.

In his remarks while addressing members of Ebonyi and Imo State House of Assembly with his caption “The Yahaya Bello I know”, he describes the Governor as one personality who has change the narratives of not just leadership settings in Kogi State, but also, would be a reference point to other states. From 2016 till date, the Governor has demonstrated leadership capacity in all spheres. His approach has been seen as an art as well as a responsibility.

He said; ” Many who call themselves leaders within the African milieu have usually been dressed with the false sense of what it means to be a leader. To many, being a leader has to do with the ability to win political positions and be at head of a group or organisation. It has usually been viewed that leadership is about ‘calling the shots’, while the others are there to obey their orders. However, it is also a known fact that being a leader entails a lot of responsibility.

Governor Bello prioritised youth empowerment and complete civil service reform in his administration. The reform was long overdue as the state civil service was riddled with corruption. The government was able to clear the rot in the system and help block the leakages through which public funds were being siphoned.

As a Youthful and energetic governor who so much believes in the welfare of the youths and people of Kogi State, he understood that youths were really going through a tough time in Kogi State and there is a lot of expectations to see how he will keep them engaged. In his wisdom, the government designed a comprehensive youth empowerment programme to take care of the yearnings of the people in the category via various empowerment schemes, small scale businesses, etc

The Governor has secured Kogi state from the hands of bandits, armed robbery, kidnappers, all manner of social vices and Kogi State is free and open to investors. He has over eighty percent of young people in government, thirty give percent affirmative action for women, given special preference to indigenes irrespective of ethinic and religious background, first in fiscal transparency, the state has improved it’s internally generated revenue which has also boost it’s economy and so much more. The Yahaya Bello I know can do even more of this if given the opportunity to lead our dear nation.

He concluded by calling on the people’s representatives, stakeholders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to give the governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello total support so that he can become the next president of the country come 2023.
