…says Kogi people have high expectation on the new administration.

…promise to prioritize service, loyalty, transparency, probity, accountability, Kogi people.

Kogi state governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has charged that it was imperative for the new commissioners to constantly live in the knowledge that they owed their seats in the cabinet to the pleasure of the people that they represents hence they must never take them for granted in any way.

He gave this charge while delivering his address after the administration of oath of office and respective portfolios to the 18 commissioners that would form members of the State Executive Council.

The governor however promised that his administration would establish, for the first time in the state, a reward system that tracks and evaluate performance of all officials as an indication of progress made by the government over a period of time. According to him such periodic evaluation would not only enable his government to assess performance, but also go a long way to keep government officials constantly in check by the people they represent.

He urged the commissioners to keep their heads high, work as a team and deliver as one indivisible and a united family in service to the people of the state adding that as the Governor, he would lead by example at all times and prioritise service, loyalty, transparency, probity and accountability in everything as part of plans to always put the people first.

He reminded them of the high expectation of the people of Kogi State which was premised not only on account of the exceptional performance of the immediate past administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello but more so because his government promised to consolidate on the solid foundation already established for all-round development in the state.

He pointed out that he was delighted to have assembled a team of competent men and women drawn from diverse and balanced background with a mix of seasoned technocrats and experienced public servants who have earned their marks in different spheres of life before now affirming that the team was tested and ready and he was confident that together they would make the desired impact in the lives of the people and leave lasting legacies for others to emulate.

Governor said “As you assume office in your various ministries, departments and agencies of the Kogi State government, you must be reminded that we are neither the best nor the most deserving of the over Four Million Kogites that are equally very eminently qualified”

“As such, we must be humble and be seen and heard to be working in the interest of all Kogites without discrimination in whatever guise”

He further urged them to be dedicated and committed, and to do right to all manner of people without fear or favour because their oath compels them all to do so in the course of your service to the state.
