Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has mourned the death of former Gongola State Governor Bamanga Tukur.

Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello, has expressed sadness over the death of former Governor of the then Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, describing him as a distinguished statesman who made significant contributions to Nigeria and Africa.

Bello, in a condolence message, sympathised with Tukur’s family, the people of present-day Adamawa State and Nigerians over the death of the elder statesman.

He described Tukur as a distinguished politician, administrator and business leader whose contributions extended beyond his tenure as governor and his service as National Chairman of a major political party.

According to Bello, the late Tukur also contributed to economic policy, private-sector development and Africa’s business interests through his role as Chairman of the Africa Business Roundtable.

Bello noted that Tukur’s death at the age of 90 marked the end of a long life devoted to public service, humanity and the service of Allah.

He said the late elder statesman would be remembered for his compassion towards ordinary people as well as his contributions to the development of Nigeria and Africa.

Bello prayed that Almighty Allah forgive Tukur’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him eternal rest in Aljanatu Firdaus.

He also prayed for Allah to grant the deceased’s family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
