Former Kogi State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District, Yahaya Adoza Bello, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win Kogi State by a landslide in the forthcoming election.
Bello made the declaration on Friday, October 2, 2026, during his homecoming in Kogi Central, where he was received by a large gathering of supporters and APC members.
The former governor said the reception had reinforced his belief in the continued support for the APC in Kogi State, particularly in Kogi Central.
“I have never doubted that my people are with me 100 per cent. I have never doubted that my people are supporting APC 100 per cent,” Bello said.
Bello also expressed confidence in the continued support of the people for President Tinubu and the administration of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
According to him, the electorate would support APC candidates because of what he described as the party’s commitment to infrastructure development and the delivery of democratic dividends.
The former governor said the turnout at his homecoming was significant because, in his view, it was spontaneous and not induced.
“It is organic. It is inborn, it is inherent, it is in our DNA, and I sincerely appreciate them,” he said.
Bello, who is seeking to represent Kogi Central in the Senate, also thanked God, the APC, President Tinubu, Governor Ododo and party members across the state for their support.
He said the homecoming demonstrated the strength of the APC’s grassroots structure in Kogi State.
Bello further assured President Tinubu of strong support from Kogi State, particularly Kogi Central, ahead of the forthcoming election.
“I want to assure Mr President that the Kogi State election, and the election of Kogi Central in particular, is as good as done 100 per cent for APC,” he said.
Earlier, former Kogi State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, said the turnout at the homecoming reflected the attachment of supporters to the former governor.
“This is the homecoming of a leader that liberated the whole Ebira, and we all turned out to welcome him. It is not an easy thing,” Abdullahi Bello said.
The former chairman said the gathering demonstrated the level of political support for Yahaya Bello among his supporters in Kogi Central.
The statements by Yahaya Bello and Abdullahi Bello were made during the October 2 homecoming, which was held ahead of the 2027 Kogi Central senatorial election. The claims about the scale of support and prospective electoral outcome were statements by the speakers at the event.
