Yuletide: KGSG distributes food items, other relief materials to 2019 flood victims
Kogi State Government through the State Emergency Relief Agency (SEMA) have commenced the distribution of relief materials to 2019 flood and rain storm victims across the affected eleven local government areas.
The State Government also pledged a support of 2kg one thousand bags of rice to complement the effort of the agency as they give relief to these persons during the Christmas and new year celebration.
Speaking after inspecting the relief materials at the store house in the premises of the ministry of works, Deputy Governor Chief Edward Onoja lauded the timeliness of such gesture.
He affirmed that such effort would palliate the damage done by nature particularly in the year 2019 stating that those lacking some of the basic items available would also smile in the yuletide season.
The Deputy Governor charged well meaning individuals in the society to also join such effort noting that there were no better time to share love than in the Christmas and new year season.
He further lauded the effort of the Agency and its leadership while he promised government facilitation of aid from its Federal Agency ordering that the materials should reach those they were meant for.
The Executive Secretary, State Emergency Relief Agency, Mr. Mejiyan Julius after taking the Deputy Governor through the materials on ground lauded Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief Edward Onoja for their humanity.
He pointed out that the relief materials included foam mattresses, Plastic buckets, blankets, wax prints, mosquito nets, soaps, detergents, zinc roofing sheets and nails would go to nine local government that suffered from flood incidence and two local government that suffered rain storm in 2019.
