Zacharias Moves to Intervene In Erosion-ridden Ochadamu Road
…calls for the Federal government intervention
The member representing Idah Federal Constituency who is also the Chairman House Committee on FCT Judiciary, Hon. David Idris Zacharias has moved to intervene in the Ochadamu Erosion-ridden site which has almost cut-off the Eastern flank of Kogi State from the capital.
The lawmaker in a bid to end the menace has sent a delegation to visit the area affected in order to ascertain the level of wreckage with a view to attracting the attention of the Federal government.
In the delegation is his Senior legislative Aide, Hon. Rilwanu Momoh and other members of his team.
According to Momoh, “there is an urgent need to tackle this menace reason been that the movement of goods and persons will be stalled once the other part of the road caves in. As we all know, this road is one of the major roads linking the Eastern part of the country and the Northern part and we must act urgently to avert it’s excesses.
“However, we have officially informed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to as a matter of urgency intervene in order to avoid eminent disaster that it would cost in weeks if not days to come,” he said.
Momoh also pointed that Hon. David Idris Zacharias will not rest until a solution is proffered to contain the situation.
