2023: Kogi COS charges youths to take power through democratic process »

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Jamiu has affirmed that Nigeria’s youth would politically expel selfish politicians who have used Nigerian’s common patrimony to amass wealth for themselves at the detriment of the nation’s development.

Pharm. Abdulkareem who made this known on Thursday in an exclusive interview asserted that these individuals who have made tremendous gains through Nigeria were now setting up the youths against each other in a bid continue to hold on to power for selfish interests.

The Chief of Staff stressed that the youths were the highest casualties of the various current negative happenings in the country, therefore their response to taking over leadership for its betterment must be stern and vocal.

In his word; “You cannot be outside and demand for power. Those under the agitation of #Revolutionnow #Buharimustgo are doing so through the back door and such move can’t be fruitful.

The All Progressive Congress as the political party in power has opened the platform for the youths to come and own the party, hence the appointment of His Excellency as the Chairman of the Youth and Women mobilisation and sensitisation Committee, thereby creating the right opportunity.

‘Power can only be taken through the ballot (a democratic process) and my call is to the youth all across to come and enlist on the platform which have opened the way for them to become active members.

‘In Kogi APC, youth are in power, that is why I was appointed Chief of Staff by the Governor. Originally I should be selling paracetamol” He added

The COS noted that 2023 was certainly for youth to take over power while he encouraged youths not just to register, but actively indicate interest asserting that power could only be taken and if they were waiting for anyone to give it, such would be a forever venture

While he thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the #nottooyoungtorun bill into law and the recent appointment of a youth as the head of a major Agency he urged the youths to have tall dreams and aspiration irrespective of their background while they wake up from their slumber and take what rightfully belongs to them.
