2023: Youths hail Obasanjo for backing words with action
Reactions has continued to trail the recent meeting between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, with a group, GYB2PYB Youth Support Group commending the former president for backing his words with action in support of youth leadership.
The Director General of the group, Amb. Oladele John Nihi in a statement issued on Monday on behalf of the group and Nigerian Youths, thanked former President Obasanjo for rejuvenating the confidence the nation currently have in Governor Yahaya Bello whom he described as ‘Youth Choice’ . He further described the meeting as timely, and a confirmation that the former President cares for the nation’s stability.
Emphasizing on the groundbreaking achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in the area of security, Nihi said Obasanjo has proven once more to be a lover of youths.
“Obasanjo is one of the few Nigeria former Leader with the interest of the youths at heart. We are not surprised to see former President Obasanjo coming out openly to acknowledge the good work of Governor Yahaya Bello. He did it because he is a progressive leader that wants the country to move forward against all odds. I knew this when I personally met with Baba for the first time in 2019, at his Ota country home” Amb. Nihi said.
President Obasanjo as was revealed after the close door meeting, urged Governor Yahaya Bello to continue his fight against criminality. After he thanked the Governor for his outstanding role in youth/women involvement in governance.
