National Assembly member-elect, Hon David Zachariah lampoons reprehensible, undesirable representation so far for Constituency
The member – elect for Idah Federal Constituency, Hon David Zachariah has described the form of representation gotten by the area from those that have occupied the position as reprehensible, undesirable and poor.
He made the point on Saturday in Idah while speaking with the people of his constituency during a ‘thank you’ visit by the leadership of the APC in Kogi State and other members elected from Kogi East Senatorial District.
Hon Zachariah, who urged the people to join him in condemning the poor impact those that occupied the position so far have had on their constituents, promised to change the narrative by bringing positive change when he assumes office in June.
He said he had had the privilege of seeing the National Assembly Chamber first-hand and would testify that the poor showing of former legislators was no accident but deliberate and that it was pitiable that poverty and underdevelopment were still rife at home while the office holders swam in affluence.
The incoming legislator, who expressed gratitude to the people for their steadfastness and continued support since his victory at the polls, said he had no reason to fail them.
He wondered why an elected legislator would dedicate his time and resources into fighting the executive arm of government rather than synergising to attract dividends of democracy to his constituency, and promised to fight for the masses rather than fight other arms of government.
Hon Zachariah then used the opportunity to pay special gratitude to the present administration in Kogi State under Governor Yahaya Bello for his love for the people of his constituency, Kogi East and the state in general, and promised to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by canvassing support and voting massively for him in the November gubernatorial election.
He also used the opportunity to thank the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja for his continued support and dedication to the development of Igalaland, and promised his loyalty and determination to serve the interest of the people.
Speaking, Hon Suleiman Musa of Idah State Constituency; Hon Amodu Seidu Barry of Ofu State Constituency and other elected representatives also thanked the people and expressed their commitment to working assiduously for the overall development of the area.
