Gegu youth in Kogi vow to vote Gov Bello massively in November Guber

Youth in Gegu community in Kogi Local Government Area of the state have vowed to vote massively for the ruling All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election.

The vow followed the tremendous crowd that welcomed the Governor back to the state on the community’s highway on Wednesday from Abuja the nation’s capital.

Speaking for the people, former governorship aspirant who is from the area, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu said he does not regret his loss at the primary election in which the incumbent won overwhelmingly.

Engr Bashir said he was not surprised because Gov Bello has given a good stewardship of his first tenure so far, noting that he has mobilised his supporters and that they would deliver to the ruling APC and governor Bello in November.

He used the opportunity to also bare his mind on the decision of the Governor to pick his Chief of Staff Edward Onoja as his running mate and described the choice as a perfect fit for the job.

The former aspirant noted that Governor Bello is a listening leader who took note of the concerns voiced by those who he contested against on the path through which to take the state and is implementing their suggestions, saying that he does not envisage obstacles when the Governor returns for his second term.

He was emphatic when he said; “Far from how some people are judging the Governor, he is a listening leader with passion to give equitable development to the entire state. He is a listening leader with commitment to deliver good governance.

“He has been the most youth friendly Governor in the history of Kogi State. He is a man of his words who is loved by majority of our youths and rural dwellers. He has given my Local Government Power supply which we are enjoying because it is improving the socioeconomic potentials of our people.

“The Governor has also given us water, improved healthcare facilities, youth and women empowerment, educational facilities among others. So, why would our people not support him? Let’s be frank, there is no alternative to Governor Bello in Kogi State at the moment.

“He is in his first tenure which is learning period. Some mistakes have been made and corrected. He has opened himself up to criticisms, the areas where we told him to improve, he is obviously doing that. Workers salaries are being paid as and when due. He is also giving attention to all other sectors of concern.”
