Kogi Gov’s aide on students visits students lodges affected by flooding, promises gov’t assistance

The Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Student Matters, Hon Omonu Joshua has visited lodges of students of Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja that were affected by recent flooding to promise them of the preparedness of Governor Yahaya Bello administration to provide them with some succour.

Comrade Joshua who also sympathised with the students over the natural disaster described Governor Bello as a listening, youthful leader who is always ready to assist his citizens in distress.

This happened today, Thursday, in Lokoja when he visited the institution from where he was led by select student leaders to the lodges.

He expressed sympathy with the students about the ugly situation and urged them to remain calm as he was sure the Governor would intervene on the matter when he is properly briefed.

He was accompanied on the visit by the national President of National Association of Kogi State Students, (NAKOSS) Comrade Troy Omeiza.

While further soliciting for their continued support to the present administration in view of the laudable programmes it has to cater to their welfare, Hon Omonu prayed not to see a repeat of the same and advised them to avoid securing accommodation in flood prone areas.

Speaking on behalf of the affected students, the National Treasurer of Kogi State Chapter National Association of Nigerian Stidents (NANS) Comrade Noah Agada commended the Governor’s aide for his timely visit as it demonstrated the genuine love the present administration had for Kogi State students.

He said several students lost valuables to the flooding including laptops, handsets, results, among other documents and gadgets and expressed hope that government would come to their aide soon.

Comrade Agada expressed the loyalty of the students to the present administration, stressing their resolve to mobilise for the government in the forthcoming November governorship poll in the state.
