Kogi culture commissioner ties nuptials in colourful ceremony in Lokoja
Kogi State commissioner for culture and tourism, Dr Joseph Ebije has been tied in matrimony with his bride, Christiana Omale in Lokoja.
The marriage took place in a beautiful ceremony in Lokoja on Saturday at the CMML Church, Adankolo and it was preceded by an equally colourful traditional wedding at the bride’s family home in Adankolo New layout, on Friday.
The officiating pastor of the church who took charge of the wedding vows, Pastor John Ojone admonished the new couple on the need to involve God in all their affairs in order to make their union work.
He said the presence of God in any home was necessary for proper and continuous peaceful coexistence, noting that if a family made God the number one priority in their lives, such family would bloom beyond expectations.
A guest speaker at the ceremony, Apostle Joshua Okikiola in his admonition described marriage as a lifelong institution that takes place after wedding.
He referenced Genesis 2:24 where God originally instituted marriage between a man and a woman and said they shall leave their parents and hold fast to each other to become one flesh, a charge that has made it necessary for couples not to involve any third party in their affairs.
He advised the couple to imbibe the virtue of patience and perseverance, saying that after the union, they were bound to discover a lot of things they’ve never known about each other, but that with tolerance they could weather all storms.
The Chief of Staff Hon Edward Onoja who represented Governor Yahaya Bello at the wedding enjoined couples to ensure they speak and do things in unison without allowing a third party interference.
He prayed God to grant them a fruitful marriage and cause them to prosper beyond their expectations. The wedding was also attended by the Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Deborah Ogunmola and other government officials.
