Chief Onoja Attends Virtual Inauguration of APC Strategic Youth Inclusiveness Lobby Group

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief (Dr) Edward Onoja attended the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Strategic Youth Inclusiveness Lobby Group conducted via zoom. The committee was inaugurated by the APC Youths Representative, Barr. Ismail in alignment with the Covid-19 guidelines.

The National Youth Lobby Group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was set up to engage with Leaders at the National and Local Levels for effective delivery of the Youth Mandate. It is commissoned to collaborate with Party Leaders, Governors, Legislators, Ministers, Elders and other critical stakeholders within their zones in ensuring the full inclusion and participation of Youths to attract the energy, commitment and brains of young people in running the affairs of the Party.

They are to work in conjunction and consultation with the interim youth leaders in their respective domains for maximum impact.

Barr. Ismail admonished the national representatives drawn from all the geopolitical zones in the country to begin work in earnest, digging deep into APC congresses which is to begin from July 31st to September this year. He also advised that a handshake be created between geopolitical zones for peer review and effective implementation.

In reacting, Chief Onoja noted that the continous voters registration (CVR), by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), shows an instructive data update that reveals that 90% of the over 1m as at yesterday whom have registered online are disclosed to be young people below the age of 50 years with the males taking 60% and women taking 40% in the statistics.

He also made meaning as to a pointer that Nigerian youths are ready to take over the leadership structures across the country.

He remarked how the APC has a mentorship structure that helps to alienate the participation of actors who naturally are not supposed to be in politics as the structure of the APC grooms from the bottom to the top.

He also noted that what most Nigerians yearn for has been done in Kogi State under the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello with youthful penetration across the party and leadership structures in the state, a template which can be replicated across Nigeria, reiterating that he is convinced the youths are very ready, he added.

The All Progressives National Party’s Congresses has been scheduled to hold from the 31st of July, 2021, beginning with the Ward Congresses across the country.
