NAKOSS gets first-ever female national president

The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) has made history by electing the first ever female national president of the association, Comrade Balogun Mojirola Racheal.

The election conducted by Salihu Abdulmalik Eneye as the ELCOM Chairman, was the last phase of the national convention held between 12th and 14th August, 2021, which also saw Comrade Musa Bala Ele-ojo emerge as the senate president along with others.

Comrade Racheal, a student of the federal university, Lokoja emerged winner after a keenly contested election which saw other aspirants stepping down for the only lady in the contest few hours to the poll.

Delegates and other stakeholders from different institutions across the country who praised the peaceful outcome of the election described the emergence of Mojirola as the student’s way of emulating the inclusive nature of the Yahaya Bello administration in the state where women are given the opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of the state.

The national president elect who thanked the delegates and other aspirants for finding her worthy to lead the students body, promised not to disappoint the confidence reposed.
