Yesterday, the 09th of October 2021, the third stage of the zonal inter school competitions being organized by the Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF) came to a close in Kabba, the western part of Kogi State where (3) out of (13) schools who took part in the quiz competition were selected to move on to Lokoja for the competition finale which will be held from the 13th-16th of October 2021.

This three schools brings the total number of schools who will be attending the finale from the three senatorial districts of Kogi State to nine. These schools will proceed to Lokoja to slug it out via show of their mental prowess.

The schools are as follows:

Government Secondary school Okenya in Igalamela Odolu LGA.
St Charles College Idah in Idah LGA.
Our Lady’s of School Anyimba in Dekina LGA. (From the Eastern senatorial district)
Ebira Community Secondary School Ogaminana in Adavi LGA.
Demonstration Standard College Onyukoko Okene in Okene LGA.
Government Science Secondary School Ogaminana in Adavi LGA. (From the Central senatorial district)
St. Augustine College Kabba in Kabba-Bunu LGA.
Iyara Anglican secondary school, Iyara in Ijumu LGA.
Titcombe College, Egbe in Yayba west LGA. (From the Western Senatorial district)

The Commissioner for Education in Kogi State has been quite vocal in his appreciation to the NGO and how much it is doing for the educational sector in Kogi State through this competition, not just because of the promised Scholarships and gifts to be won at the finale but because of the spirit of competition which is being raised in the students, and which can only push them to do better.

The focal person of the NGO, Honourable Sandra Musa said the foundation is committed to revitalizing the educational sector which ultimately helps the state as a whole, adding that an educated people are a productive people.
