Gov. Bello attends first matriculation ceremony of Nana Health College in Anyigba

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Saturday, graced the maiden matriculation ceremony of the Nana College of Health Sciences held in Anyigba, Dekina LGA of the State.

He was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja who conveyed his felicitations with the management and staff of the institution at the Ceremony.

He hailed the institution’s vision of inspiring hope for patient-centered healthcare, describing the College as a valued partner in Governor Yahaya Bello’s drives to make Kogi Nigeria’s destination of quality healthcare, with health as a thematic area.

He said Governor Bello is making quality investments in health through staff welfare, provision of medicare facilities, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, opining that in no distant time, Kogi would be recorded as the training ground for practitioners in the global health sector.

He highlighted tremendous efforts to improve study and research in some of the State-owned institutions such as the College of Health Sciences in Idah; Prince Abubakar Audu University Teaching Hospital, Anyigba; Kogi State College of Nursing, and Midwifery, Obangede; with ongoing efforts to establish a College of Medicine at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) in Osara. He added that the proposed School of Medicine at the Federal University, Lokoja (FUL) will complement State Government’s efforts targeted at quality healthcare delivery.

He finally advised the students to remain focused so they can graduate with skills and knowledge to make them stand tall in global health delivery.
