Consistency in Purposeful and Tireless Leadership: The Man Chief Edward David Onoja
By Fanisi Babatunde
Events in the contemporary Nigeria has shown a very vast lacuna and dearth in leadership, particularly the ones driven by purpose, selfless and tireless service.
Even amidst this shortage are characters that have shown great resilience, courage and strength in thier daily quest of bettering lives, solving critical human challenges while still balancing the serious burden of governance itself which in the school of politics is termed a 24hours business.
Chief Edward Onoja exudes leadership in his daily life. He has together with his boss, mentor and Siamese twin, Yahaya Bello in the last couple of years dispatched the required patriotic combativeness that has rejigged, refocus and energize the Kogi state governance system and released the state from the unproductive, paralyzing chokehold of government bureaucracy and unveiled impunity that has been festering injustice and inequality in the state since the return of democratic rule.
Chief Edward Onoja’s strong character and attributes is essentially one of the pre-requisites of the 21st century leader. His passion for people without ethno-religious border is second to none. Even critics in thier secret innermost minds can never vilify such a leader.
He has overtime, demonstrated the greatest of love and passion for leadership, through verifiable, massive human capital development for those whose path have crossed his in the last couple of years he has been rendering purposeful partnership and followership to Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of the state. This unimpeachable fact, could be attested to by several Kogites within even the ruling party and the opposition elements in the state.
Youths who strives to advance and master the act of leadership undoubtedly needs a firebrand, uncompromising leader, who doesn’t have appetite for failure, to reactivate them into meaningful productivity and excellence, an Edward David Onoja might just be that missing elixir.
