Faleke Commends Governor Bello For Approving Establishment of State University in Okunland
Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Chairman House Committee on Finance has commended Governor Bello for approving a new State University for Kogi West, Precisely Okun land in the State.
Faleke made this known on Thursday in a letter addressed to the State Governor and personally released through one of the media outlets.
He thanked Gov. Bello for the kind gesture which he described as deserving the people of Okun land and a step in the right direction.
“I received with elation the news of the approval granted this week by the State Executive Council to site a University in Kogi West, precisely Okunland.
For long, the Okun people have clamoured for a State University to be sited on their land to no avail inspite of the high level of literacy and educational development in the area. It therefore came as a relief that your administration has deemed it expedient to do the needful. As the popular saying goes: “It is better late than ever.
I therefore wish to use this opportunity to thank Your Excellency and all members of the State Exco for this good development which would go a long way in speeding up educational development in Okunland among other inherent advantages the project will attract.
It is my sincere hope that the University Project will take off within the shortest possible time, devoid of institutional red tapism usually associated with such government decisions.
Thank you once again Your Excellency and God bless”, he concluded.
