Kogi Infrastructure: Works Commissioner urges Oguma/Seria Road Contractor to expedite action on project
To rationalize the investment of governor Yahaya Bello in the lives of the people of Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, the Commissioner for Works and Housing Hon. Samson Bako has urged the Vanguard construction company handling the Oguma – Seria Road and Bridge work to expedite action as such is the only way the Governor could be pleased.
Bako on an unscheduled visit to the project site today stressed the need for contractors to deliver their jobs before the expiration of the Governor’s tenure in office.
Bako who expressed some measure of dissatisfaction with the pace of work at the site summoned the management of the company for a review of the work plan.
In his words “I am not happy with what is going on here. The video and photo updates were not in tandem with the reality on the ground, if I had not come here with my team, I would have believed that the job had truly gone far. The work done has not justified the commitment of His Excellency” he expressed.
Responding, the project Site Superior, Engr Emmanuel attributed the slow pace of work to the current heavy downpour in the region, assuring that the job would accelerate as we are gradually advancing the dry season.
Bako finally told the contractor that he would continue to visit the site until the desired speed in exacted on the project
In the company of the Commissioner are: the permanent Engr. Audu O Emmanuel, the SSA on Infrastructure Hon. (TPL) Ezuh Momoh, the Director Civil Engineering Engr. Akubo Abuh Hassan and the State Information Officer Works and Housing Mr Abah Benjamin Eneojoh Treasure.
