Lokoja LGA Chairman Congratulates Prof. Abubakar Alabi On His Appointment
The Caretaker Transition Committee Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has congratulated Professor Mohammed Abubakar Alabi on his appointment as the Director, Global Institute of Infectious and Disease Control of Federal University Lokoja.
Comrade Abdullahi Adamu described the appointment as a good step and the beginning of many more good things for the host community.
He applauds Prof. Bukar for accepting to bring his wealth of experience home and help build the He described the appointment as a well-earned reward for his contributions in the Academia.

Comrade Abdullahi acknowledged Prof. Abubakar’s passion for the development of Lokoja Local Government through his scholarly contribution in several platforms notably the Lokoja LGA Stakeholders Forum, Lokoja First Advocacy Group etc
The Chairman also thanked the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akinwumi for the roles he played in bringing Professor Alabi home to contribute after spending several years in diaspora. He commended the Vice Chancellor for the numerous milestone achievements since he took over the institution and for actively persuading the host community to show interest in the development of the institution both in manpower and infrastructures.
“Over the years, Lokoja Local Government Stakeholders have been clamouring for Lokoja Sons and Daughters in diaspora to come home and take ownership and take their place in Federal University Lokoja. We thank the Vice Chancellor for facilitating the return of one of our best heads. More will come, Insha Allah”
Prof. Abubakar Alabi who has carved a niche for himself in the field of Infectious Diseases and Control would be charged with bringing his experience to bear in addressing challenges in human health, partnering with global partners to drive innovation and improvement in healthcare, and proferring solutions in public health among others.
