Attack on Commercial Motorcyclist: Hon. (Barr.) Dare Michael Condoles With Family, Vows Justice

The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of a commercial motorcyclist who was brutally murdered by unknown assailants. The victim, a member of the Okada Riders Union, was attacked and killed during a night operation, and his motorcycle was forcefully taken away.

The tragic incident occurred late at night around the Best Way area near Kajola in Kabba, where the rider was reportedly stabbed to death by yet-to-be-identified individuals.

In a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Omofa John, Hon. Dare described the attack as barbaric and unacceptable, assuring the public that all efforts are underway to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice. He emphasized that such criminal acts will no longer be tolerated in the local government area.

“I extend my sincere condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Okada Riders Union. May the soul of the departed rest in peace. No responsible government would fold its arms while such heinous acts are being committed against its people,” the Chairman said.

He further warned that those behind such crimes will face severe consequences. “We are not sleeping. These evil perpetrators have crossed the line. I assure you that they will face the full wrath of the law. This latest incident will not go unanswered,” he vowed.

Hon. Dare urged commercial motorcyclists to exercise greater caution, especially during night operations. He advised them to avoid known high-risk areas and prioritize their safety over monetary gains.

“I encourage you to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements or individuals. Always conduct proper checks before picking passengers, and avoid taking people to secluded or poorly lit areas. Use nearby junctions to drop passengers rather than venturing into unsafe streets,” he advised.

He assured residents that security agencies, including the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), are already on the trail of the perpetrators, stressing that criminal elements will be treated with the same seriousness as bandits.

Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael also reassured the public that the local government, in collaboration with security agencies, will continue to intensify efforts to safeguard lives and property across the area.
