Gov Ododo Committed to Youth Empowerment, Statewide Development- Commissioner

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kogi State, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, has reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to youth empowerment and the holistic development of the state.
Speaking during the ongoing Kogi Youth Townhall Meeting held today in Ogori-Magongo and Ajaokuta Local Government Areas, Honourable Anyebe emphasized the importance of unity among government officials to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt at the grassroots. He praised the vision of Governor Ododo in prioritizing youth inclusion, welfare, and development initiatives since assuming office.



The engagements in Ogori-Magongo and Ajaokuta were vibrant, with active participation from young people who expressed both appreciation and constructive feedback. Youths of Ogori-Magongo commended Governor Ododo for his visionary leadership and dedication to the well-being of citizens. They called for sustained investment in basic infrastructure, youth-related projects and more platforms for dialogue.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Women Mobilization, Hon. Charity Ijese, lauded the enthusiasm and support of youths in the area, expressing confidence in Governor Ododo’s continued commitment to the region. She noted that the administration remains focused on ensuring that no part of the state is left behind in its developmental agenda.
Chairperson of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, Hon. Rosemary Ohiezu, applauded the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for initiating the townhall meetings, describing the event as a timely platform for youth engagement and an avenue for assessing the performance of the current administration. She pledged the unflinching support of the local government to the Ododo-led administration.
In Ajaokuta, youths similarly expressed appreciation for Governor Ododo’s inclusive governance style and significant strides in improving workers’ welfare. They, however, appealed to the state government to prioritize infrastructure, particularly road construction, in their locality.
Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, commended the people of Ajaokuta for their consistent support for Governor Ododo. He emphasized that the administration is taking stock of all feedback for future policy actions.

The Chairman of Ajaokuta LGA, Hon. Ogido, alongside the representative of Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency), and other key stakeholders including representatives from the State House of Assembly, delivered reports on their stewardship. They assured the people of continued developmental projects and reiterated that Governor Ododo remains committed to delivering more gains of democracy.




The visit to Ogori-Magongo and Ajaokuta marked the final phase of the Youth Townhall Meeting in the five local government areas that make up Kogi Central Senatorial District. The initiative will proceed to other senatorial districts in the coming week, as part of the government’s strategy to deepen youth engagement, inclusivity, and participatory governance.
